I renewed my VFG membership for the (4th or 5th?) year again this morning. Why?
The knowledge, the camaraderie, the daily good laughs and the occasional good cries, the resources, the opportunities, the good reputation (which becomes my good reputation just by meeting the standards), the friends and my international extended family.
These reasons and many more I cannot begin to articulate make the $35 a year in membership dues and the contributions I try to make to the organization seem a bargain even in tough economic times.
Friends of the VFG, did you know there is another side to this forum? In the private Trade Member only forums we often share the secrets of our successes as well as the lessons learned from our shortcomings, give more expert advice than you can find anywhere else, and encourage one another to be our best.
If you meet the VFG requirements and are up to the challenge of our Code of Practice, I urge you to apply for membership: http://vintagefashionguild.org/apply-for-membership/
