Would you help out a \"newbie\"????

Hi all! I have recently become interested in purchasing and selling vintage clothing. However, I admit I really know VERY little about it. I have bought a couple of books, but they don't seem to be of much help. Where do you all get your information about dating clothes, what sells, etc? Also, I was curious to know what you all have found to be your best resources for finding these vintage items. So far, my only source has been thrift stores.

In addition to the resources here, the VC&A forum board on eBay has some helpful resources.

I think many of us start out buying vintage at thrifts, but the supply of good is drying up. Try estate sales, auctions, antique co-ops, garage sales in older neighborhoods, etc.
