Yikes - Talk about a Treasure Trove!

Some lovely pieces, it's quite amazing that they are in the shape that they are in having been stored the way that they were.
These little town museums were basically run by volunteers, so Jonathan, I guess you're right about whoever was in charge at the time, certainly did not think much about a bunch of "OLD" clothes! It's a great find for them now, at least this group is definitely appreciative!

Great story, thanks for sharing Amanda! I loved the bit with the son of the Austrian couple in the wedding photo, him dressed in period clothing and with his mother's wedding dress displayed behind him.
Lucky thing the crawlspace all the stuff was left in turned out to be a good storage environment...

I know - "I's a wonder" the clothing wasn't destroyed by moisture or mice.

I never tire of reading these stories - thanks for sharing Amanda. I can't believe the condition of the clothing, just amazing considering how long they were sitting in that crawlspace. I love the display too and sure wish I could visit the exhibit.
