Well we are expected to get some bad weather today so I decided to take a snow day off from work! They have closed ALL the schools all ready, not necessarily that it is that bad right now but I think they were afraid that once they got the kids to school they would have problems getting them home!

I just found a huge box of dresses from the old store that I had not even opened, (kind of made me really decide on the snow day) which means I am going to need some help later today with key words and style descriptions!

If anyone would like some snow---I'll be more than happy to send some your way!!

They are calling for another 2 feet of snow overnight. Running out of room here :)

we're getting a snow on top of all of yesterday's meltings, should be fun to navigate. It's coming down at a pretty good clip! Good day for homeade soup, wool socks and elastic waist pants. :spin:

Just a dusting of snow so far this year. But, according to the radar map, the storm you are talking about is coming this way and it shows that it's snowing RIGHT NOW!

When I stick my head out the window - nothing! :puzzled:

Very strange. Usually Intellicast is very accurate.

Maybe it's GHOST SNOW!! :o

Carrie--people about an hour'ish north of me are shoveling their roofs! In Oswego they have gotten 12+ feet in the last week. The sidewalks and walkways look like ant trail tunnels. YUCK!

KNOCK ON WOOD--it isn't that bad here. I live right on lake ontario so it's always snowing but if I drive a mile down the road it's usually a lot nicer.

Didn't that varmint say it was going to be an early spring?

We finally got our snow...it has been snowing really lightly since Thursday and finally stopped last night. It is beautiful outside, but damn cold! We are off to Seattle for a few days with the kids soon, so will like the change of white scenery!!

View out my back window, from my office area.

That's real pur-dee!!

I saw the pix of Oswego and they reminded me of a few winters I had in Buffalo. Although I lived here when they had their 8 feet of snow about 3-4 years ago. I just saw the aftermath about 2 weeks past. Snow mounds shaped like cars parked in the middle of the street WERE cars that had been there for two weeks. That was the big storm they had in mid-November that started on a Monday afternoon. Reports of a black sky full of thunder and lightening and sideways flying snow, follwed by their mayor telling everyone to HEAD HOME NOW (2pm) - so they did, had city-wide gridlock made worse by tons of snow. Everyone started abandoning their cars so it made the gridlock PERMANENT and that was that. A city full of snowy car shapes and miserable people hiking home.

The chubby critter did call for an early Spring - but I don't think it's supposed to be THAT early. Mr. Groundhog got stuffed back into his lair and is probably fast asleep right now. :asleep:

Well if you are getting hit in Pittsburgh now I should have the same weather in about 20 hours (I'm in Pike county across the state from you). That's the way it has always been. We are always 20 hours behind you weather wise. My girls are getting out of school in an hour (which is an hour early) so they don't have to worry about the roads being bad. No snow here as of yet.

Probably around this time tomorrow this is how I will look...

yep, its a good day for chili and cookies...and wine?:hysterical:

it hasn't been bad here at all compared to typical winters; and so long as one bundles up smartly, its really kinda neat out there! we have no where NEAR the amounts that NY is getting, but enough to look forward to spring already anyway!! AMANDA! i need to order some plants to make me feel spring-y-er!!!

my honey got me a self-propelled snow-blower last summer (read: on sale!) and it is AWESOME!!! i just jump into my carharts, wrap up in my yummy-warm mohair scarf, hat and mittens and i'm good to go!! i also do my neighbors sidewalks as its just so darn easy with this thing!! yay!!:D

Well, it's 9:25 a.m. and it's snowing/icing here right now. We have 4+inches of snow and are supposed to get another 10-20 before it's over. DH arrived home from work at 2:30 a.m. with heart shaped boxes of candy for the girls and I. So we are all snowbound together for the day which will be very nice. Stay safe and keep warm everyone! My blog's been updated (just a nice Valentine's Day story) and now I'm going to play with my new steamer.

Well today I came to work, but actually the road were much worse today then they were yesterday! We got about 6" yesterday and another 2" expected today, but the temp is dropping and roads are freezing!

yup--overnight we got 12" and they are saying we can expect another 12-25" by tonight.

My one dog loves this though, he flops around and makes doggy angels in it. My other dog hates it. I have to force him to go out to pee.
No more snow! No more snow!:horny:

I have shoveled 3x in the last 4 hours and it's been just as much work each time....that's how fast it's falling here in VT! Of course I have a snow shovel that even Barbie would amost laugh at. I told John I want a respectable snow shovel for valentines day. Yep, keepin' that romance alive!!!
