We make room for Daddy in our heart of hearts, this week. The parade features items that remind VFG members of their father's/grandfather's style. Whether it's a big shirt of his that was borrowed as a teen, or his favorite sweater that is unforgettable, honor him with the posting of an old or recent photo of Papa in all his fashion glory, along with an item for sale from your shop.
Daddy wore French cuff shirts all his life & he loved ties. In the 60s he only wore bowties - I don't have any for sale right now but these were his: Cufflinks from my Etsy shop: Vintage 60s Swank Banded Agate Cufflinks Vintage 60s Swank Oval Tigereye Cufflinks

My father and clothes...he was a clothes horse and always sartorially interesting. I think of tweeds, impeccable white shirts, and ties. 40s twilled wool suit, 80s herringbone jacket He had many fine sweaters. Another casual theme for him was safari style. My Dad would have been 101 years old yesterday (6/18)! He was all about cars. He had car cufflinks like these: Vintage Car Cufflink Set - 70s - UNIQUE Collar Pin He was a service manager for a Cadillac dealer outside NYC and worked with lots of celebrities. When he had that job he was very dapper, wearing lots of 60s skinny ties. The one I used for this suit jacket was his. I wear it all the time: Men's Vintage 60s Suit Jacket - Early 1960s Rat Pack - Thin Lapels His initials were JT. Strangely enough, my biological father, who I found in the 80s, had the same initials. (I was adopted)
My Father was always an impeccable dresser and enjoyed wearing very classic styles. He loved tweeds, fine silk ties and things that I thought at the time, looked a lot like what an English country gentleman would have worn. This was a photo taken long before my first recollections of him in the early 1930s before he was married. The second photo is in the mid 1950s on a trip to the Skyline Drive, Virginia. Again, always in a suit and tie! Didn't see him wear much casual clothing until he was well into his later years. My Father was an Attorney for almost 50 years and practiced the profession when it was considered to be an honorable one. 1930s Harrods London Silk Tie 1970s Coat Tails Milnburn Tweed Sport Coat 1950s Welch Margetson & Co.
