Dating antique cotton dress

    Could it be a skillful reproduction? I think this because of the machine stitching. What do others think?

    My feeling is that if it is a reproduction, which I’m sure it likely is, it may still be vintage because of the fragility of the fabric, that it is such a tiny size and the fact that it was owned by a museum might lend some credence to the idea. What’s bugging me is that similar dress on Etsy!

    I think this is a dress it would be worth your while to take to a specialist/textile museum for dating. It needs to be seen, I suspect.
