Next up from my crazy RL archive buy, these 2 little cotton jackets. Are these chore jackets for children?

Both jackets have the tags from the RL library with no information filled out other than 'vintage'

The first one I can narrow down the date to some time before 1937, the 'Stantogs' label in this one was a big help. The company has a well documented history:

Bright purple cotton with contrast electric blue in the pockets, attached belt with D ring, unlined with flat felled seams, pleat in the center back of the jacket.

Measures 30 inches across at the chest, 18 inches in length.

This second one is a similar shape but no makers label. Thinner black or grey scale cotton selvedge denim. Hexagon patch pockets, attached waist sash, small paper label and older size tag, overlocked seams.

Measures 28 inches across the chest and 17 inches in length.

Those are great. The purple (?) one looks like the top to a boys play suit, and came with matching short pants or puffy knicker style pants. Maybe 1920s, but not at all sure really. Same for the darker one, I think.

Can't wait to see what else you got from this treasure trove.

I think they all originally had matching shorts.

Playsuits or very casual wear for boys.

Purple one appears a little longer, for a taller lad?

1930s.

Pocket suggests otherwise but purple one hasn't been died from an original colour?
