Dating a blue dress

Might this be a 1950s day dress? I don’t think it was hand made but maybe. Also, I wanted to know it would be alright to wash it in a washer on a delicate cycle? It’s covered in cat hair, ugh. Thanks!

Cute 1950's day dress. It should launder well on delicate. You could put it the dryer for a few - maybe 10 - minutes to dewrinkle, then hang to finish drying.

Awesome, thank you! I wasn’t going to try drying it at all in the dryer but I think I will take you up on that suggestion in the hopes it removes all the cat hair. I can’t believe how much hair is on this dress!

I agree, looks like 50s, and like it's cotton - that should be no problem to wash on delicate cycle. Just remove the belt first. That might have metal components that won't take washin well. It doesn't look hand made - those are machine seams. As to if it was home made by someone - not sure either - it looks more like something commercially made to me.
