Is this a vintage piano shawl?

Hello everyone,

It is beautiful. It will be a bit difficult for us to date it from only a photo. It depends on what fiber it is made of (silk, rayon, etc), the weave (crepe, etc) the overall weight of the shawl, the size, and seeing the embroidery up close and seeing the reverse of the stitching. It does appear to be vintage, possibly even antique. Maybe if you add some close ups and can determine the fiber? Also, can you give us the size? Larger ones tend to be older, in general.

Piano shawl, Canton shawl, Spanish shawl, Manila shawl... they have many names but they are all the same item. They were made in Canton (Guangzhou China) for export, the bulk of them were sold through the Philippines to the Spanish market, thus the name Manila and Spanish shawl. The largest ones are usually made between about 1900 and 1930.
