Dating a Chanel silk dress

Hello!

After months of reading these super helpful boards and cross-checking labels, I wanted to post a question I have about a dress sold to me as a Chanel dress from the late 60s/ early 70s. However, the label looks like 80s to me (assuming the dress is authentic). It came with a quilted belt that had been converted to close with Velcro and the belt itself has a really unpleasant, greasy/ sticky backside.

I’ve attached some photos of the dress, the belt, the label, and the zipper. Thank you in advance!

It's a beautiful style. We cannot help with authentication, but we can help with dating. I'm not seeing 60s at all, and doubt 70s. Does it have any kind of care labels? If so, please post those too. And does it have shoulder pads?

There aren't any shoulder pads or care labels, sadly. The fabric feels like a thick, heavy silk satin lined in a thinner, sheer silk georgette. The fabric warms easily between your fingers.

There was no Chanel RTW (ready to wear) in the sixties. Chanel sold licenses to copy. The line-for-line copies cost about 10% of a Chanel couture suit. Manufacturers paid a fee (usually the cost of two designs) to see the fashion show. They couldn't make sketches, but some like Victor Costa were very good at remembering what they saw and made knock-offs.
Chanel Creations (RTW) began about mid 1970s.
Chanel Boutique was started after Lagerfeld arrived in 1983.

Thank you so much for the help, everyone!

Your label looks similar to a '90s one in the label resource (see here). Which tallies with the absence of shoulder pads: an '80s would have had them.

It looks like there was a label below the Chanel one that would have given us the information we need, but someone has cut it off. A pity. I really wish people wouldn't remove labels, they're so useful.
