40s or 50s? Towels

This is a bit of a silly thing, but I really want to get better at dating so....

I found these deadstock guest hand towels and my initial impression was 50s, but a few things make me wonder if they could be 40s:
  • I have read there was a "Colonial revival" style that went up to the 40s
  • The style of the font looks a bit older to me
  • I feel like you often see that "Reg. U.S. Patent Office" notice on things from the 40s? Not sure about this one.
Any thoughts?

The label is a bit hard to read because it's shiny, but it reads "Novelty Decropak one pair hand towels. Reg. U.S. Pat. Off."

I'm going to say 40s. Agreeing with your idea about the font especially, I looked on newspapers.com and saw no ads for Decropak before or after the 40s.
