It's hard to say for sure without seeing things up close - but possibly early 70s? Do you have any pics of the buttons? Esp the gold ones... Also - again, I really can't tell from here... but - are you sure the two pieces are meant to go together? It looks like they're different patterns/colors...

Great information, Jim! I went down a LEVI's dating rabbit-hole a few months ago trying to pinpoint the age of a few pairs of more recent vintage Levi's women's jeans (not that my customers *really* care if they're 80s, 90s or Y2k... but dang it, *I DO!*) - and it's crazy all the little details...

I suppose it could also have been for a beeper :) But yeah - they sure did like making special pockets for phones in the late 90s/early 00s. I'm always seeing purses from that time with similar pockets. At least it helps with dating!

Unfortunately, we sell a LOT of 90s/Y2k stuff lately. Not really my thing, but we have a college nearby so I pick up the more iconic stuff when I find it - and lately I've been letting one of my employees sell stuff on consignment - she's kicking ass with those eras right now. I kinda hate...
