I can't find this label anywhere. I'm unsure of the style and era of it. Perhaps its just been a long day and my mind is on the fritz. Can anyone help me? By the way, you are the best at helping me with my vintage clothes. I can't thank you all enough!

The images below are from 1961 and you can see the same Immerman logo at the bottom. I am also posting here a slightly enlarged view of the text, for readabilty. Note that it says the business was established 21 years ago.

A 1964 blurb noted a Mr. Martin “bought the Endicott (NY) store from the estate of the late Esther Immerman, who died in April, 1963, after operating the business for about 20 years.”

You are such a super sleuth! I don't know how you ladies find this information, but you are great at it. Thank you so much.

Do you think the dress is from the early 60s or 50s?

:)

I forgot to include one small additional bit of information I found for you last night. A 1943 city directory for Endicott NY recorded Esther Immerman’s store, with Mrs. Esther Garfinkel Immerman “...prop(rietor) gowns, sportswear, coats, suits” at 137 Washington Ave.

Esther was married in Onondaga NY, in 1935, to Jacob Garfinkel.
That is so Interesting. Thank you!

Esther Immerman was my Great Aunt. The Immerman family immigrated between 1903 and 1907 from Libran, Russia, which is now part of Ukraine. My great Grandfather came first, in 1903. Then, in 1904, Hannah, Aaron (my father's father), Simon and Fiege (who Americanized her name to Fannie) followed. In 1907, Esther, Clara and Isadore completed the family, where they settled in Cincinnati. Esther and her sister Clara were both taught sewing skills, and when they left the family home, they each found employment as seamstresses in Kentucky. There's a big gap in her story here, but as a youngster in the 1950's, I distinctly remember our family driving to Endicott and visiting Aunt Esther!

Welcome to the VFG forum, @CincyDave ! We love when our forums turn up family connections. Tagging @Ranch Queen Vintage who may want to collect this information for the Label Resource. Do you have any of Aunt Esther's garments, or photographs?
I have a bridal gown with this same label. I bought it on EBay years ago.

What fascinating information! Would you happen to have a picture of Esther?

My great aunt Esther had her first store in Cincinnati , Ohio in the Carew Tower building. It was named “Esther’s” On October 2, 1942, her shop opened at 137 Washington in Endicott, NY. The shop was at first named Garfunkel’s, but after the divorce from Jacob (Jay), the shop became Esther Immerman’s. Her sister Claire had wicked seamstress skills and worked for Bobbie Brooks in NYC. I believe that when they left the family home in Cincinnati, both of them obtained seamstress work in Kentucky. The quality of their work is so impeccable and impressive.

My husband is a collector of life size folk art figurines from Wayne Kleski of Katherine’s collection. We have them on display year round in our home and I would love to have an Esther Immerman gown for Mae to wear. We have 2 Mae’s, as you can see
