a 40s hand painted necktie by Allan of California. The tie front (on the right in the photo) looks like script, but isn't. Allan's signature is on the back - left side.
An 80s sundress, with (I think) the fabric maker's name worked into the print -...
A very plain slip with minimal-to-no construction seaming. And depending on what color the slip was, you could get rather different looks.
Example, this 20s chiffon dress came to me with no slip. It does have a matching jacket that is lined in red chiffon.
The dress with a black slip from my...

a 70s maxidress in a print that reminds me of Celia Birtwell's work - racer back and a keyhole in front below the tie
another 70s maxi using a tribal print for the skirt
This 80s silk dress by Hanae Mori has origami-style sleeves and a keyhole...
I am not a purse expert! But the shape of this one does say 50s to me. It's hard to judge bead size without anything else in the photo for comparison, but the beads do look a bit larger than I would expect for 20s, and not as densely placed. Also the embossing of the metal frame is a bit simpler...
Thanks, Mary! Bumping in hopes that someone has had some experience with these or similar. Perhaps Barbara @Rue_de_la_Paix ?
ETA: I forgot to mention that the stands in the first batch of post #3 each have a corded pull with matching wooden bead attached. Apparently that was intended to make it...

1920s T-strap heels from Frederick & Nelson. the longtime high end west coast department store
60s plaid School Girl dress or jumper with dropped waist
I think of knickers off the golf course as quintessentially 20s, Great Gatsby and all that. In doing a bit of research just now, this pair may be Plus Fours, made popular in the US by Edward Prince of Wales during his grand tour in 1924. I would measure them now to see if they go the requisite...
I have never personally seen or handled one. I did find two ads for Schiaparelli and the Lightning Plastic Fastener
This one is dated 1937, doesn't really tell me much about how it looked.
And a dress with celluloid zipper that was posted to an aggregator website in 2018
And are these fabric covered padded display stands from the 40s? Online sellers seem to think so. Some are satin quilted, some are velveteen. The ribbon trim on some is satin, others some sort of plastic.
Most bases are covered in metallic paper in various states of distress.
Next a series of display stands with simple metal bases designed to slide onto the edge of a shelf. Some are fully painted and on the taller side at 10.5"
And then there are some with chrome plated metal and wooden knobs, painted in the colors I associate with Fiesta ware. They are all 9.5"...
I am thinking these painted wood stands are probably the oldest. They are about 10.5" tall. I don't know whether paint job is original. Maybe mid-1920s?
I recently came into a lot of vintage hat display stands, of varying types. I don't think any of them are antique. There is not a lot out there on the internet about the history of millinery display stands. I have formed some opinions, but would love to tap into the collective wisdom and...
Late to the party! Minis at MagsRags.net,
a 60s Mod mini jumpsuit/onesie/romper in houndstooth plaid and a big chunky zipper down the front
80s strapless minidress in changeable silk with a capelet collar wrap, by Nicole Miller

I am still inventorying my recent acquisition of 1920s to 1930s clothing and accessories, and was taken with this label.
It was inside this pair of button front tweedy men's knickers.
Happily, I found an online article at abitofhistory about Money-Back Smith, that also had a few reference...

a 50s full skirt sundress with ruffle front bodice, novelty plaid, larger size
and a fur pelt stole using three pelts, marten or mink
That is lovely!!
It could be a later sewist working with a 30s pattern - if so, nice job! My main qualm are the trapunto flowers - how are the edges stitched? It looks like it might be serging, which suggest a later date.
It looks like an M to me, and gem.app has two J Manes garments, that are both prints, one identified as a 50s blouse, the other a 60s shift dress. The dress shows selvedge printing like yours.
That’s from the manufacturer - a lot of vintage dress shirts have those - for yours, the numbers indicate size - a 15/33.
An internet search for Mitoga turns up a variety of Arrow Mitoga shirts over decades - looks like it was one of Arrow’s lines, and there were sub-lines, like Lane and Glen...
Cute! I see it doesn't have an inner headband, which I would expect to see in an older hat, and the lace looks newish to me. The weave of the straw also looks bulkier than I would expect for 40s.
But I am no hat expert! Hopefully Barbara will be along.
