She was a really sweet seller too. It's not perfect though, but definitely worth the money as I've not come across another I like so much.. so yes, get out your swingy jackets!
Wow! I must look away, as I can't fit any more in (and I bet UK shipping would be a bit prohibitive! :D) Number 7 across the back looks like Joan Collins to me! Very glam
I really am not au fait with US shoe sizing but I just wanted to say I am very excited about all your SHOES!!!
Only this morning I said to my Mum on the phone that I wanted some Espadrilles! Honest!
Well I sold the Varon, which is great as she was areally nice buyer. And now I can enjoy my cape less guiltily - no time for pics yet so here is the auction:

Will take some clearer photos later!
Thansk Jody! I think maybe at the show just having them under suits meant people just didn't register that they were dickies, even if they were looking for them.
I'm going to try and get some photographed later on - I'll have to share my favourites if I do!
Thanks everyone. Sadly it has to go (even though I'm pretty sure it fits but daren't try it on) because this morning the most fabulous 40s cape back jacket ever arrived that I have no choice but to keep, so one in one out and all that....
I shall try and take some pics of the Jean Varon...
:headbang: You rock Anne!
Thank you very much for that - extremely useful!
The rough napped leather lining sounds familiar to me, I'm sure I've seen a few of the same brand but frustratingly enough I can't think what it was.
I shall go find some caffeine and then try!!
My favourite sort of sleeve...
I thought early 70s - 72ish? Anyway, now I want to keep it as it was a real 'needs a form to be on' dress (rather than a hanger dress, if you know what I mean! :duh: )
That's all! Confession over...
Oh now I need to take lots of umbrella pictures too! (Excellent she thinks to herself: a diversion!! :horny:)
You'd be proud Maggie - in the last week I have used 3 different ones... miserable weather has some perks I suppose!
Now I do know (I think!) that Joseph Magnin is the son of I. Magnin, but other than that I am clueless.
I have Jonny Herbert with a Joseph Magnin tag in, whihc I assume to be the store tag. So did Joseph inherit I Magnin the store, or would it be a seperate operation?
I shall add a picture...
Hello Margaret!
It's great to see you here :) It took me an age to find the New visitors centre when I joined as I was pretty computer phobic. so you have done extremely well!
As a VFG member you can go and introduce yourself on the trade side too. It's great to have an expert in lace join...
Thank you everyone! I think ebay store may be the way to go then. I had a few with me at the last show (under appropriate suits) and they didn't even get a second glance. You've given me hope Jody!
I agree about the fear of them becoming extinct Maggie, that's exactly it! I think they're...
Now here\'s something I love - dickies!
I just went through some stock organising (and still looking for silly maternity dress.. aaagh) when I realised that I have amassed a huge amount of dickies. I can't help it, there's just something fun about them.
I was just trying to think of an...
That's wonderful Linda - I love the fact it has her original pin with it, so you get a little bit more history with it... the best bit for me! :clapping:
This is just finishing on ebay uk, and if anyone's interested I'm 99% positive it should have a Peggy Hunt label.
Meant to say I had worked it all out a few weeks ago but was so busy I didn't get round to posting - Eleanor Rothschild would appear to be the gown shop, and the designer's label...
I think I put it off as I know full well once I start writing I can't seem to stop (as those who have corresponded with me probably notice :D ) - I always had to cut my essays down to almost half to get in the word limit at college!
