You could well be right Nicole - I haven't looked inside it but it is all a bit piecemeal! What I don't get is if they added the eyelets to expand the waist why did they not make it possible to lace it how I want to lace it, lol! All very inconsiderate :)
Anyway, I have decided to unpick...
Back in the swing! I have decided to ignore the miserable weather and concentrate on party dresses and smart autumn outfits instead, these and a few more updated last night and more to come very shortly.. I'll try and remember to actually make those a sneak preview!
beaded dress and matching...
Trouble is I can't make it do it due to the central section being stitched up on one side. I know it's hard to explain - almost like someone stitched one side of your sneaker to the tongue. Maybe I should unpick it, but it looks pretty original.
I bought this the other day for myself to wear this winter. It's a bit big so I'll probably take it in a bit - I'm also trying to work out how the suede thonging tied originally?

There are only two (long) strips of suede...
I thought this had a bit of an Audrey vibe! Joan Leslie by Kasper:

Thank you! I think I've had a very quick look there before, so shall go back and have a bit more thorough nose around.
I don't think I will be selling them as I believe I too have unintentionally joined your ranks as collector - they're much too nice ! :)
I shall try and take a few...
I always pick up older scarves etc. as I am a sucker for a great print. I have a few older Jacqmar ones that I think are 'more' collectable (40s to 50s), one of which I am pretty sure is an Arnold Lever design of a market place, another enormous silk one with the Royal Opera House in Covent...
I don't know where abouts you are but if you have a small traditional wool or haberdashery shop anywhere near you that's a great place to try.
I am not a brilliant knitter but do have a go, and the last time I was in a charity shop buying wool and old fairisle patterns, and chatting to the...
After a loooong summer holiday with much inactivity for me online (I did do other stuff though, honest!) I am now excited about updating the website for autumn.. so I've put some five day listings on ebay to make space, some website stock and a couple as yet unseen:

:hiya:
I have no picture just yet, as this is something I'd sell at the antiques centre rather than online.
Just wondered if any Scots where around (Rosine?) that could advise, I have a black velvet doublet, that I think is traditional evening dress, or possible for dancing.
It's doubled...
Very cool! I always pick up older band t-shirts in particular whenever I see them but never get around to selling them. To be honest I usually end up wearing them to sleep in, which is probably really wrong of me :BAGUSE: . Especially some old guns n roses ones which I know I could sell...
You know the interviews where they ask celebrities about what they are wearing and they reel off their balenciaga bag etc. - this one is my favourite so far.. the complete opposite!

Very nice! All I know is what I found out for the resource - seems she was well known in Mexico, but not so much elsewhere (as far as I can gather, as there was limited information). She made some lovely things!
Always Maggie, lol! They are truly fabulous. I just wish more people I know would get married/throw formal dinners/not look at me strangely for wearing full cocktail attire to the supermarket... :)
You're Patricia's daughter! How small is the world.. She wouldn't know my name but I started buying from her shop when I was about 12 and probably went in most weekends until she closed. I saw her at the vintage fair in Lincoln when I was selling and said hello as I was selling a victorian silk...
