Hi Ruby, what a stunning wedding dress!. I think it is more likely to be mid-late 1950s myself, the sleeve and collar detail on it reminds me strongly of my mothers wedding gown from around the mid 50s . Hopefully one of our Canadian members will recognise the label for you which will help date...
You know what I would do? Get some beautiful devorre silk velvet in a delicate floral pattern , and applique cascades of flowers over it to hide the moth holes. I think that could look really neat myself!
Melanie you might be onto something here with the alteration idea- but perhaps it originally was a lace gown that has been altered? I still think 30's myself- but is the lace rayon or cotton? or is it nylon?

Karin, I don't knit either, but yes down here in the Colonies in Australia :sunshine: we followed everything the way it was done in the UK whether it was good or bad!! I am sure the others are spot on with their replies.
