I agreed: talk to Kerry Taylor (if you're in the UK or Europe, Australia, New Zealand) or Augusta Auctions if you're in the Americas.
What a wonderful collection to have! Please feel free to share any pics here, we'd love to see it.

BigBrother, it's a while since I've been in Paris so you're better off with more up to date information but from my experience, yes, Les Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen are an excellent source for quality vintage and antique clothing although the prices do reflect that, and bargains aren't as common...
Melanie, I haven't seen anything exactly like this but beaded tops with that tubular silhouette were very big in the '60s, they were hand-beaded in big workshops in Hong Kong. VFG member Ranch Queen Vintage is currently offering this one for sale:
It doesn't have the little stand up collar...
Hi Alex, it would be helpful if you could show photos of the whole garment and all labels. For example, there might be an 'RN' number.
On the available information it could be '70s or '80s or more modern: the more you can tell us, the more the date will reveal itself.

Dearle28, it might be easier to find a similar fabric and commission a shirt to be made up.
If it was worn by Tom Cruise, it may be that it's a custom-make or even a costume from a film (or made by a costume department for him).
Shirts are a standard style, the design variances are minimal...
Hi Melanie, sorry to hear that someone cut out all of the tags. It would be helpful if you could identify the fabrics but I'll do my best.
this is a classic fitted skirt suit, could date from the '50s to the '70s but without knowing fabric, construction or what type of zipper it has, I'll go...
Hi Karie, it is indeed me and thank you for your support.
Your label is the same as the one on ebay. I can't post a link but if you search for 'Australian Inspiration' there you should find it. It appears to be late '80s to early '90s in style but of course, could be more modern for a mature...
I might be wrong on the date. There's a currently operating company called 'Australian Inspiration' based in Montmorency (Victoria) that was registered in 2010. I also found a dress on ebay that's a bit hard to date, but looks modern.
Hi Karie, and welcome to the forums. It would be very helpful if you can include photos of the garment and labels, but from the available information I think you're likely looking at a mid '80s to early '90s date. I'm not familiar with 'Australian Inspiration' label, it sounds more like...
I've had most of these in my collection too, and research Australian labels. Most of your labels are Melbourne so perhaps that's where you're collecting?
Here are some of my blog posts on labels you've included:
Prue Acton.
Len Vogue.
Acorn Gowns.
As Alice mentioned, Fletcher Jones were very...
Thanks ChloeR, amazingly enough I have found something, it may or may not be the same company.
According to this article in the Pacific Islands Monthly, Adastra Airways started in 1930 in Sydney (Manly), Australia. It was an aviation school and passenger service. In 1935 they started aerial...
Hi ChloeR, it might also help if you tell us what country you think Adastra was based: ie, where your grandmother lived. And then look at company and business registers etc in that country.
We're an international group and before I go hunting through Australian databases I thought it best to...
Thanks plousia, it's only my opinion based on the available information, however, and others will likely have different ideas. And you, as the holder of the garment are privy to more information too.
I'm not aware of a particular name for that feature but can suggest that its inclusion, along...
Ah, it has an elastic waist: that explains why there aren't any openings.
As you say, it's home made. Skilled, but amateur construction consistent with post-war. Along with the conservative style, high neckline and loose style I suggest this dress is post war, 1947 to mid 1950s.
The pleated...
Thanks Emily, the zipper looks more '50s to me, and the fabric (now that I see it closer) doesn't look like the late '30s-early '40s silks either. Can you please show pics of how the interior is sewn? Hems, seams....I suspect you have a lovely more modern garment made to an older pattern, which...
It's true that vintage fashion is very idiosyncratic and it can take time to find the right buyer. This is probably why so much of the market focuses on products where size is less of an issue; accessories, jewellery.
Selling by auction is one way to avoid the slow demand issue, but unless you...
Hi Emily, lovely frock: does it have sleeve headers or shoulder pads? If you can show a photo of those and the metal zipper head, it would be helpful.
On the available evidence, I agree with late '30s but it could be more recent.
Nicole
It would help to see the pants, but your methods will depend on the fabric composition. If they're '70s, they're probably synthetic and the pleats permanent. In fact I find it surprising to think they wouldn't be permanent pleats, because otherwise you'd have to repress them every time you sat...
Hi Lindeisue87 and welcome to the forums.
Lovely little bag, very nice for a night out. You're right about the chain, it's a snake chain. Although these '20s inspired styles were revived in the '60's with similar snake chains, judging by the labels and the lining I would date yours as '90s...
I agree with Carla: it's an Indian-produced garment. These were popular with the nostalgic revival throughout the '70s with little Broderie Anglais tops like these having a big moment in the mid to late '70s.
