What a fun collection! I know that the super-long ones are late Victorian/Edwardian, as Melanie describes. The one I wear with my giant (original) Edwardian hat and big hairdo beneath is 9" long. Quite the weapon, if needed! I also wear it with my Civil-War era bonnets (and admit I'm not sure if...
Hi -
I'm looking to buy a reasonably authentic repro 18th century (Colonial/Georgian) corset.
If you have one for sale, or make (or know someone who makes) these stays, please contact me privately (no links on thread, please, per VFG rules).
Not looking to spend a fortune, so less expensive...
Hold up! That's not a North American care label, it's a European (Ginitex) label. See that it says "Baumwolle?" (German for cotton). They've been around much longer. Where's the thread about European labels? You know I'm hopeless on this forum.
FYI, I think it's early 80s, a la the whole Gunne...

Laura, I bought the travel bags from a woman on eBay. She had them on special, so I bought two (one for Kat, one for me, as yet unused).
She also sells the pattern to make it yourself.
I will email you a link to her shop. : )

Liberty Trouser Co. of Birmingham, Alabama. Label first used in commerce in 1946, and still in business. These little coveralls are a classic style, but they're modern. You can tell from the tag.
My friends Kat, Sarah, and I have been at it again, folks. Dressing up in our finery even if we have to invent a reason, and losing costume contests to 20somethings in 80s clothing wherever we roam.
Sarah and I hit "Spring Fling on Ponce Vintage Pop-Up Market" last Saturday. Failing to measure...
