You may have to do a little typing to get to the proper place. Go to "Search Trademarks" then "New User form" then type in LANZ.
The most interesting item is #15, but there is information in most of them.
I've gone back and re-read that Lanz website history, and something is missing. I mean , really missing. I know it used to tell about how Lanz of Salzburg and Lanz California were 2 entirely different companies, and that the California company was started by a brother or cousin who left the...
Good point, Margaret. I've even taken a damp sponge to the shoulders of a "faded" dress, and had that work.
The only color I've had dyeing success with is black. I've actually taken a paintbrush and painted old rayon crepe with Rit and had it come out beautifully!
Oh, great story! Wasn't it Quant who told the story about a shoplifter in the boutique. The young salesgirls caught an "old" lady stealing. Turns out the old one was in her 20s!
I'd LOVE to see the interiors of people's B&M stores!
Where exactly is Caledonia? I have a cousin in the central part of NY, who I really do owe a visit.

Okay, I see what you mean by the dress looks foreshortened, but the length is original. Any chance that an underlayer has been removed, or maybe a row of the lace at the hem?
Those sleeves do look to be late 30s, but we are dealing with Lanz and a very folksy look. According to their...

The yellow ones are "heel-less" shoes from about 1957. I was able to date them because the patent number was printed on them, and a check with the Patent Office website produced great diagrams of the heel design.
These have been sold and are now on their way to become part of the collection...

I can't say I've EVER seen a better ad! Great background, and Maggie looks adorable, as always!
And this sale shold be lots of fun to work with newsletter wise.
The interview with Betsey is cute and whimsical, abd I'm looking just now and there is also a great section on Zandra Rhodes, and one on YSL.
And Geraldine Stutz, the legendary president of Henri Bendel.
So now I'll spend the pm rereading my favorite bits!

Well, I MADE IT!!!
It was harder than I thought it would be, saying goodbye to everyone. (Never mind that all my friends and I are going out to dinner Tuesday!)
Actually, it hasn't really sunk in that I'll not be going back, as it just feels like a regular summer vacation. I have been...
