I think I'll stop selling clothes and start selling only electric curlers

Thank you, cosmic. I still wonder though how one of these sets can possibly work better than a brand new set by some other maker. I guess "cult" is the only word for it.

I think I'll stop selling clothes and start selling only electric curlers

I wish I knew exactly what the attraction is. The last buyer of one of these sets told me that she had used one for years and it had finally stopped working so she needed another. I think they are made very well and hold the heat in the curlers very well.

I think I'll stop selling clothes and start selling only electric curlers

I think I\'ll stop selling clothes and start selling only electric curlers I have sold these sets before for good money -- $25 - $65. But this one is at $102.50--unbelievable! The newer plastic-y sets don't sell, but these old GE sets do great. GE Electric Curlers

About to list some nice older St. Johns

Here's another: This dress has no belt, but I think it looks better with one, so I added this belt for the pictures. As I was leaving Florida and heading north after my winter sojourn, I stopped in Bradenton at the Goodwill on Manatee Avenue (Tori, take note). My eyes lit on what...

Is this dress from the 1940s?

Thanks for the suggestions. The hem is very dirty from being dragged along the floor, I suppose. Do you think I should have it drycleaned or attempt to handwash it?

Oops, that's Perez Prado. Prada is the designer, right? Ha ha ha (and more drunken laughter).

    VFG Housewarming Party!!

I'm too old to have David Bowie albums. But I've turned my stereo up high and am listening to Perez Prada and doing the cha cha by myself.

Is this dress from the 1940s?

It does have a cold touch. Rayon acetate sounds like a good possibility.

Is this dress from the 1940s?

Oh, yes, it has belt loops, but no belt.

Is this dress from the 1940s?

The waist is not very low, but it is lower than I would expect to see on a modern dress. The waist is not dropped as low as your example, Steph. It is a knit fabric. Could it be silk jersey?

Is this dress from the 1940s?

I know it should be rayon, Liz, but it feels so much like nylon. It's kind of silky feeling. I guess rayon can be silky feeling, huh?

Is this dress from the 1940s?

The material feels like thick nylon jersey. It buttons at the left side. The length goes to the floor. It looks 40s to me, but I know nothing but what I see in old movies. Thanks for your help.

So, the consensus is the 60s. Thanks very much. I'll be putting it away till next fall and holiday season.

Silk velvet floor length coat--is it vintage?

Thanks, Hollis. The shoulders are unpadded and the sleeves are not raglan, set-in, I guess.

Silk velvet floor length coat--is it vintage?

I so rarely find anything vintage that I was excited when I found this yesterday. Now that I look more closely at it though, I see that although the fabric is great, the construction is quite ordinary--nothing to get excited about. The fabric is silk velvet, very shimmery. The buttons are...

What is your pride and joy?

Jonathan, why isn't that called a dress or a gown? Why do you call it a robe? I can't see myself throwing that on and going out to the yard to pick up the morning paper, then spilling tea on it as I sip while stirring my morning porridge.
