What a delightful photo of your Grandmother....such a treasure, indeed! Hope you are able to find one similar, but I, too, think your best bet is to have it recreated! But, who knows.....with so many on the trail, someone may locate a dress for you! Good luck in your search!
Maybe Hermes licensed Gloria Vanderbilt to use some of their prints for a line of her clothing...... the materials are listed as polyester, so it's not silk as an authentic Hermes would be. And, it may be a little bit older since it was made in Taiwan and not China.
Looking for that special dress for a Christmas party....look no further! And, if you really must be practical, you can wear it again for that special Valentines Evening Affair!!! 1959 Red Chantilly Lace Party Dress available at My Vintage Clothes Line at...
Fashionably elegant for the Holidays! 1960's Hat with sparkly detail....available at My Vintage Clothes Line at http://www.rubylane.com/item/659654-497/1960s-Original-Woodmere-Emerald-Green
I think anyone who has collected and studied jewelry for a long time, will certainly tell you that they would rather see the back of a pin than the front....and, the back of your top hat pin is what makes me think it is not really as old as you think. The back just looks newer, as Linn said...
Linn, I couldn't agree with you more and value your opinion highly when it comes to jewelry! By, the way, did you get to Rhode Island last month for the convention? I had really hoped to go, but just couldn't make it work out. I haven't been since everything changed to CJCI, but have heard...
I started out with my own website and I think that really takes a lot of time to develop in order to get the exposure that you need to attract customers. I've never sold on Ebay and am a very infrequent shopper on Ebay......I much prefer to actually see feel and smell the items I am buying to...
I agree with Mary Jane on the dates of all three hats. Hats by Sylvia are often very interesting styles....I have had a few of them and they are always really sweet hats! I had one very large hat with that label that I called my Pinwheel hat....it was a very unique hat. Mr. John hats are...
Cute top hat pin! The cut crystal is nice, too, but I don't think it's Edwardian...possibly 1940's. I've had many of these and some are even strung on fine metal chain. They have maintained their popularity. In the 1950's and '60's it became popular to do these crystal pieces with AB coating...
Holly, I googled Palais Royal and it appears to be a department store....listed one in Houston, TX. The fact that it says it's made in Hungary makes me think it's not really vintage....possibly 1980's- 1990's. I had never heard of this department store....none in my neck of the woods. Nice...
These look like beautiful items and appear to be in wonderful condition. You have been blessed with this find, for sure! I'm partial to that Red and Black dress, myself!
Lorraine, I always say that things to come certain people for a reason...we don't find them, they find us! It's wonderful when these treasures can be preserved by people who love and appreciate the importance of them. It is an honor and and most of the time a great pleasure. Although, it is...
