I was contacted by a women that I know who's friend had unfortunately passed, and the friend was from Chicago and from a VERY wealthy family... dug from her attic was boxes and boxes of the family's antique clothing that they had owned and worn then boxed and put away not to be touched again for decades! I was the first with the women that I know to dig through these boxes...here is just a fraction of what I was able to get!

how lucky are you! they are all so gorgeous. i am halfway through sorting boxes and boxes of an estate clearance from a titled family. i have been back twice and filled the car to bursting each time and still got more to get. i know exactly how you feel, the excitement and the sheer joy of these treasures. i don't know about you but i feel it is an honour that we do this, its not by chance. we were chosen to do it because we appreciate and respect the workmanship, the quality and style.

every single piece is exquisite, you are going to have such fun.

Lorraine, I always say that things to come certain people for a reason...we don't find them, they find us! It's wonderful when these treasures can be preserved by people who love and appreciate the importance of them. It is an honor and and most of the time a great pleasure. Although, it is sad when someone brings an item to you that you really want to keep and preserve, but you know it's too far gone. That happened to me this past spring with a gorgeous silk wedding gown from the early 1900's. The Bride had been from Alexandria, Virginia....right outside of Washington, D.C. and had apparently been quite privileged. The gown was so elegant and beautiful, but had not been cared for and the silk was just in the most pitiful state. It broke my heart!
