Seeking info: Vintage Dress circe 50s/60s Label "mister L"

Well, that find was helpful, as it confirmed whether the 'L' was a size or part of the name. Good find! That enabled me to find this, from a 1962 newspaper article: "NEW YORK - A new division has been formed by R & M Kaufmann, Inc. of Aurora, Ill., dress manufacturers. It will be called mister L...

    Holdtite Hat Holders

Even better to show both ways of wearing the hat holders. I can't tell for sure with your image, but your thicker hat holder appears to go behind the ear, but under the hair at the neck, correct?

    Holdtite Hat Holders

Once in a while a post appears here with a question about the placement of the elastic band on (primarily 1940s) hats, or a photo is posted in which you can see the band under the chin of the mannequin's head. As I unpacked my millionth box here, from having moved here a year ago, I found this...

For the life of me I can’t read this label

This is from a 2023 reference, but...a possibility, I suppose. "Hue Textile Garment JSC manufactures clothing. The Company produces shirts, jackets and other clothing for children, men and women. It is Vietnam's 11th largest Textiles & Apparel company by market capitalisation." and, also from...

In a 1931 edition of the Boston Herald: "...search of all known sources has failed to produce pictures of Mrs. Maria Theresa Hollander, who, in 1948, took the unheard-of step of starting a shop, as the first merchant to specialize in children's clothes..."

    Label history query...

From a 1933 edition of Town & Country: "...the new East Fifty-seventh Street shop just opened by (couturier) Joseph...Under the stress of circumstances the store soon closed, and no one really hoped for a reoccupation of the building except the owners and Benjamin Pitman, who had been New York...

I found a bibliographic footnote in an online PhD(?) dissertation that the Maria Theresa Baldwin Hollander papers are in the collection of the Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe College, Cambridge Mass.

Hello ,does anyone have info on this brand of vintage shirt? ( Royal Surf) Men's cotton. thank you

I found confirmation of the start of Paradise Sportswear Ltd in an article about their 1954 incorporation. The owner/president of the Ltd company was Calvin Chun and in a different database I found references to the Ltd company until at least Jan 1982. Note that that company is apparently...

Hello ,does anyone have info on this brand of vintage shirt? ( Royal Surf) Men's cotton. thank you

I found a photo of a garment with what seems to be an identical, but newer, Royal Surf label, and with a second label beneath it that had a registered identification number (RN#) that indicated Royal Surf is a product of the Paradise Sportswear Ltd company of Hawaii (see image here). I found...

    YKK Explanation

This just came in an email to me from Interesting Facts and it may be of interest to you: "Zippers are part of our daily lives, whether on our jeans, coats, or bags, and as long as they work, they usually don't receive intense scrutiny. However, a closer look at various zippers will likely...

For the life of me I can’t read this label

I assume your label is "JSC" based upon the identical "S" in the word "Script" you see below it and the "C" in the word "Classic." The "J" is not identical, but close. I have, however, only done a fruitless, cursory look for a clothing business with that label or those initials.

Help with information about this beret please

I was not able to find much information about Mr. Martin hats, but what I found thus far is: -- I started seeing mentions of Mr. Martin hats around the mid-1960s and I think the latest mention I saw was in around 1978 -- a small mention in an article in a 1969 newspaper noted: "At the budget...

Breslau The Friendly Shop Washington DC info?

I found references in the early 1960s to a CT outlet store that may have been named--or owned by--an I. Breslau, but the latest Washington DC Breslau store I found was referred to in a 1957 article: "M.H. Peltz Inc., Baltimore, and Harry, Samuel, and Irving Peltz have denied Federal Trade...

    Clearing our Grandmother's vintage/antique hoard!

The one thing that stops my heart, with fun posts such as this one, is when I read with great anticipation that the poster's items belonged to his/her grandmother. I gleefully rub my hands in anticipation of seeing a lovely old Victorian something and when I scroll down to the photo and see...

I saw fon Tayne, too, but since that spelling wouldn't produce any results that differed from Fontayne, I ignored it.
