Hi Plousia
I reverted this back to the original setting, so these are no longer in bold, because I realise there is another, more subtle indicator of Unread Threads.
When viewing the forum list, if there are Unread threads, the 'speech bubble' will be purple and with lines in it. If it's grey...
If you are not seeing the forums with the VFG logo and colour scheme, you need to change a setting.
The forum should look like this:
NOT like this:
If you are seeing the Default blue Xenforo Style, here are instructions to change it:
1) Scroll to the very bottom of the page
2) Click...
Hi MJ
It does not look correct, and the issue is related to you being an administrator. I will address this in the Administrator/Xenforo maintenance forum, as it doesn't affect anyone else.

Hi Barbara
There is a filter for Show Only: Unread threads, that you can remove by clicking the X (right hand side of screen in the grey bar).
If you want to make this permanent, you can change your default filter setting:
Go to filters at the right hand side, untick Unread, and tick Save...
We are upgrading our forum software, and need to temporarily close the forums.
The process will start at approximately 0100 PDT / 0400 EDT /0900 BST this Wednesday 18th September.
The forum will be closed for several hours, and potentially 24 to 48 hours.
When it is done, we will have a new...
What a lovely dress!
We have some information on the label resource: https://vintagefashionguild.org/resources/item/label/london-town/
Here's another thread that mentions London Town, Mayfair.

To me a trench coat has many more details, eg epaulets,, storm flaps etc etc. It’s also usually double breasted and yes, belted. The term has has morphed but i think its origins are military. As in WW1 in the trenches
I wouldn’t call this a trench coat. Overcoat or rain coat works.
Please read the forum rules. We don't offer 'real or fake' / authenticity advice on this forum.

Do you mean it changes colour depending how the light falls on it? It might be a changeant fabric like shot silk

we can’t help with value, sorry, see the forum rules
That’s great news that you can legally sell it, I hoped that would be the case, and how wonderful that you kept the documentation to prove it.
‘The Act’ in the USA refers to the Endangered Species Act which is also dated 1973, so your purchase in 1967 is definitely pre-Act. (The CITES...
Here’s a case study on Vicuna conservation in Bolivia. Having a tightly controlled trade in the fibre is actually helping the species recover. The unrestricted ‘open access’ exploitation nearly made them extinct in the 1960s. It is a success story but the species still needs protection to keep...
It is illegal and has been for a long time, though I realise many people don’t know this.
Vicuñas were nearly made extinct for their coats, because many animals didn’t survive being trapped and shorn, and it’s easier to shear a dead animal than a live one. There were only 6000 animals left...
Agree with this.
In the USA, it's under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service - but I don't know how helpful they are. Sales within a state are covered by state law, and some states are much stricter than others. Vicuna is on CITES Appendix 1, which gives the greatest protection...
The only thing that might help is if you can separate the fabric threads into each individual ply.
Each thread will be made of at least two plies, and it’s possible that one ply will be 100% vicuña and another 100% cashmere. However if the two types have been blended at the carding stage and...
Can't really help with the tie, but can confirm that all the arcades off Regent Street are very very posh, at least today. Not sure about mid 20th Century. They tend to house small boutiques, so it's possible it was a small business/maker/tailor, catering to the very well-heeled, rather than a...
