60s Old Spice Grand Turk Aftershave Cologne Gift Set NOS...
They are indeed beautifully made, :) and very much 'Hagler' in style. I see a double layer of wire beaded petals, prong set rhinestones, and lovely Swarovski margarita stone in the center.
Although I haven't sold on eBay for awhile, my feeling is that they may do better there -- but then...
I don't know what's going on with my Blogger account, where I can sign on, but my comments don't 'stick' and disappear.
Anyway, just wanted to mention how smashing all of the items look :drooling22: , and also like how you mentioned not harming or permanently altering the jewelry in the process.
Most definitely Bycin -- and into today. It's just a form of plating.
It can be as thin as a vermeil, or a heavier plate, depending on the amount of gold deposited.
Tease! Lol.
Well let's see, maybe something along the lines of -- crackle glass beaded cascading articulated pendant cluster brooch -- or something similar.
It's late and so I'm just stringing a bunch of words together, but there must be a decent title in there somewhere, lol.
A...
That's an excellent angle - thank you! I'm still seeing 20's/30's on it, and see some of the goldwash remaining.
It also looks like some type of brass wire work around a center stem holding the beads, from what I could see. Did Mom find this piece too? Can I borrow her? :)
I think it's early too, and thought 20's/30's. Just to see the bottom side of that clutch/lock can narrow it -- and also perhaps spreading the beads a little if at all possible, to see what's going on in there. :)
Thanks for showing that -- can you tell me or show what kind of 'thumb extension' (if any) is on the other side of that clasp/lock?
I see what you mean Bycin -- I was hoping to get a better view of the jump rings or wiring that is securing the beads, which look like crackle glass briolettes...
Anytime Bycin :) Oh, you'll find plenty of D&E over the decades -- beginning around the mid/late 40's I believe. They made jewelry for lots of designers and had plenty of their own lines, although Juliana is the best known.
And from it's construction, I do believe that it's Juliana...
Lovely Maltese cross! That ring support and solder mottling look very much like Juliana (D&E), and would be early 60's if so -- or could be a D&E piece made for someone else (Weiss, Robert, etc.).
You'll get more opinions shortly.
I hope some of you can help Romilly Norman with locating some of her family’s jumpers / sweaters from the 80's, designed by her mother and bearing her name on the label -- “Chrissy Norman” – sold primarily in the UK.
Miss Norman purchased a teddy bear jumper in my Ebay shop a few years back...
Those are great pics Nadene, and thank you for showing them.
I'm still not getting an older vibe with this piece, although it is 'in the style' of earlier periods as mentioned.
I'll tell you what I'm seeing and not seeing, and then you can decide. The first thing that jumps out at me...
