The story behind this there always is one from me and it goes like this!
I wanted something to go with my 1950 black dress, while I had plenty of choose my budget at the moment is very constrained, thus I found this hat
which for filled my requirements been something slightly different and with a texture been feathers unfortunate it is in a slightly distressed state so it was only £7.00.
I took it to my milliners and while they new how to restore it and add what was missing they are unable to do it in the time span of two weeks, so at the moment I done my own improvisation. I will have it professionally restored later on.

Is it in keeping with the 1950's or early 60's? as the dealer though it's from around that date was uncertain.

and will it go with this outfit as a replacement to my present hat.

Thanks again Pauline.

Pauline,

So nice to see you again, and you look fabulous in that outfit...very put together.

The hat looks good with that outfit, and fits the 1950's time period. Looks like you did a good job on the quick fix. What kind of restoration does it need? I can't tell from the photos, but it looks pretty good as it is!

Thank you very much Chris,
Barbara the hatsis in pretty good condition it just really needs my quick fix replaceing with the real thing, the milliner used to work for HRH the Queen so she know what needs doing but she just got a 6 week waiting list for her work. so in time it will be replaced with a more professional looking quick fix and as they know what they are doing I leave it up to them, as that always the best think to do, nothing worse than telling an expert there job.

hopfully my quick fix will work if not looked at to closely:singing:
