the craziest Polynesian dress I\'ve ever seen
This little dress is by "Alice" a maker of crazy print Polynesian dresses. I love the Polynesian version of unicorns and Camelot. LOL.
At first glance I thought you had a pic of one of the Olsen twins on your Twitter page. Models as a hobby?! She's gorgeous!
By the way Ang, I don't see a thread about your hats being photographed for Vogue! Did I misread something? Is this the case? If so, why aren't we all jumping and screamin?!
I think avant guarde still means the same thing, but like Anne said, it's way over used. i see it used for 80s structural pieces, cacoon dresses. sorry for my lousy spelling this morning.
@linn @daisyfairbanks I think when you have dedicated a good portion of your life to collecting and researching, and once you have established a rep for knowing what you are talking about, it's very easy to command those prices. Plus it's all about the marketing. They are obviously appealing to...
Missoni showed collection of these space age, modernist necklaces for Spring. Deja-Voodoo has a great collection of these types of necklaces. Check them out. I love it! I think it's beautiful.
Hey Kristine,
I was looking through my Judith Miller's Costume Jewelry Collector's guide and I saw the bracelet that matches your necklace. It's clear however. According to this publishing date the bracelet is from 1950 and is worth $225-375! That's the bracelet alone.
I find that costume...
That's the way I would imagine someone wearing it today. I always leave the styling up to the imagination of the buyer, but this is one of those items that I think may need a little dressing up.
I didn't go to the Rose Bowl this Sunday. I was planning on it, but was swamped with listing stuff on my site. I bought this top years ago and just pulled it out of storage. I did buy the Estevez there though. I did very well last time. Got several gems and spent less than $100. Not bad for the...
I've had this for quite a while. I'm digging through the "archives" (which comprise of tubs of unknown stuff). I kind of figured it came with a long skirt or skinny trousers. I can show it with a skirt!
I checked the label resource and this label, at least the same color, is similar to FuzzyLizzies's 70s skirt. I'm pretty sure this top is late 80s, maybe even 90s. It's very high quality ( I know! Anne Klein?!)
It is a top and not a dress. it barely covers my mannequin's butt. What date do...
found another on Ebay with the cover up! But hers is cream.

So here is the Estevez swimsuit. I have no idea what to price it. From what you all shared, they seem rare? Any guidance? Please excuse the funky background. I need to reshoot with lights instead of sunlight. Black velvet is a pain in a** to photograph!
LA - So many to list. Very good prices: Aardvarks, Buffalo Exchange, American Vintage, Elsewhere Vintage (technically Orange County)
High end - The Way We Wore, Jet Rag, Flounce, Squaresville
Too bad you'll be here at the end of August because the Pasadena Rose Bowl happens mid August...
Score!!! They are both beautiful and completely wearable. I'm thinking 60s on both. I don't think the light colored ones have that typical 80s heel and the vamp seems way higher up the top of the foot compared to 80s. I think they are mid 60s
Chris!!!!!!
I remember you fondly. I am sorry about the asshole, I mean, turn of events in your life. Women are strong. Stronger than men most of the time when life hits the fan. Good for you for finding that inner strength and continuing on this new path.
Are you back in the vintage...
I was wondering if anyone has seen the Vogue August issue to see if my ad actually ran in the Vintage advertorial. There was some issues with payment deadline so I don't know if I made the cut.
Oh such good timing! I am working on a blog post about my latest obsession with gigantic cuffs from the 30s - leather and studs. and how the gigantic statement pieces were unabashedly paired with sophisticated clothing, but it never looked too much, not on the screen anyway.
I love that he...
