I've listed a comprehensive, 1932 sewing manual on eBay. It covers sewing from beginning to finish, how to thread a needle to how to finish a party dress, and it also covers the history and origins of clothing and fashion. It really is a comprehensive book and very interesting to read!

I've included a lot of photos and text in the auction listing so you can get a feel for what the book includes. Even if you don't want to bid, take a look at the listing and enjoy the illustrations!

oh btw...it looks like there is a lot for folks who sew by hand?? What i don't like about newer sewing books is that it assumes you will do everything by machine...and i don't like the machine that much.
 
You're right, the book often offers instructions about how to do a task by hand or by machine. I think it was printed early enough that a lot of women still did at least some sewing by hand.

It's a really neat book! I hope it gets some good bids. :)
