    Hello folks,
here again because I have a very big doubt.

I'm wondering if this dress (pictures in attachment) is from the 80's or from the 40's - fabric is satin.

It does look 40's to me aside form the rear zipper which don't really belong to that era.

Any help would be super appreciated,
    thank you :)

If there are shoulder pads, are they sponge-y or rather firm?

Nothing about this says 40s to me - the fabric and construction, zipper - they all look quite modern. The little buttons at the cuffs was also a 30s, 40s thing. But, the overall body-con shape looks like a total night owl clubbing circa 1985 look. You'll see similar shapes in well known body con designers of the era - have a look at Tadashi and Victor Costa. They borrowed really flattering ideas from the 40s and totally disco-sexed them up for the 80s aesthetic! (Which, by the way is, is having a lovely resurgence.)
