I was so excited with the size of this dress! They so rarely come along, I thought perhaps this might be from the 1940s but with the slight drop waist and overall look I went with the 1930s as well as the zippers are sooooooo tiny...
Anyway, this yummy dress is listed on Vintagetrend on Ebay now!!

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news... but the zipper placements put this into the late 1940s. I have never seen a centre back zipper in the 1930s, they are used more obviously as they are novelties at the time. Does this one have a side zip and the small zip centre back? If so, that is really typical of the very late 1940s.

Well thank you Jonathan, I was way off wasnt I? I thought the double zipper was just the opposite, meaning it was used more in the 30s... I have since changed the dating in the auction... I really appreciate your "baring of bad news".....

Well.. whenver it was made.. it's a freaking hot dress! Wow!

*skipping off to check measurements...*

Glam dress--"slinky" comes to mind! Oh, why do I have to be so short? By the time I cut several inches off it, the lines would be bastardized.... (Contrary to what it may seem, I am NOT a beach ball in disguise!)

That reminds me of the dress (material appearance) that Sue had listed as slipper satin. Is it the same type of satin.

That is one slinky dress and I bet it looks even more head turning (if that's even possible) on a gal with less mannequin and more realistic proportions.

Thanks guys!! That was my day of listing things I thought I could not part with! Now I have to get to the shoes and handbags!
