40s ransohoffs silk golden dress help

    Hi,

    I think this dress is early 40s, but not sure. Anybody have an idea what it was used for? Day, dinners, events or something else? Lastly, any idea on provenance of designer? It has a ransohoffs label but no other labels, that i could find.

    Wow - I love the fancy peplum!

    Have you checked on the underside of the selvage of the seams in the skirt? Sometimes the label is hidden in there. I love finding those!
