40s Red Plaid Pendleton Jacket!!!

Discussion in 'PUBLIC Show and Tell - Share your treasures' started by vintageclothes-line, Jun 3, 2004.

  1. This fits me so I don't know if I am going to give it up really soon. I think it would look great with those pleated, full 40s trousers. Just a few tiny moth holes but so tiny, it's just fine to wear as is. Other than that, it is in wonderful shape. Shoulder pads. I just love the boxy shape and buttons. <p>(Edit)Oops, someone just told me this jacket was probably worn in the 50s. Pendleton called them 49er jackets because they begin making them in 49.<br><br><center><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/40spendleton2.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/40spendleton5.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/40spendleton7.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/40spendleton8.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/40spendleton12.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/40spendletonlabel.jpg><br><br>

Thats adorable. I remember a Lucy where she wore one of these ( don't know if it was a pendleton ( but it probably was ) and hid eggs in it ( while wearing it) when she was living in Ct . But you don't need Lucy to sell this. They sell well I have only found one look alike 49'er. Would love to find one!

I have this identical 49er in my closet. I wear it all the time in the fall and winter. It really is one of the most wearable vintage items I've ever found, which may explain why they continue to be good sellers.

I like the way you have shown it with the white blouse and black skirt or slacks.
