60s plastic bag(!?) crocheted jacket

Hello!!! I have a lovely 60s piece and I am trying to figure out what fabric was used to make it...

It looks and feels like it was woven with shredded plastic bags, hehe. Very classy that with that lining and collar, though.
I'm guessing its from the 60s and am aware of the creative paper dress trend, but I'm curious if any of you have seen this kind of work before?

Hi,

That is a great coat. It is woven from raffia, which can be a natural treated straw or composition straw, or even a plastic or cellophane "straw".

I think it's crocheted, as far as I can tell. Crocheted raffia.
