A few of my favorite finds

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share a few of my favorite finds in my personal collection.
1st item is a fabulous vintage crazy quilt style circle skirt. It has great satin fabric like the old neckties were made with. I collect the old neckties as well. I found this skirt about 4 years ago at a Salvation Army thrift store.
2nd item is a 30s-40s crepe blouse handpainted by Tina Leser. The theme is Falconry. I found this on a web site about 6-7 years ago. My ex-boyfriend has been into falconry and for some reason I talked him into buying the blouse. He gave it to me after we broke up. I did not know at the time what it was. I about fainted when I did. It fits me perfect and I have worn it on a few occasions always with compliments.
3rd item is a fabulous 50s Mexican circle skirt, hand-painted with sequins. Mint condition. I found this at my wholesaler where I buy my vintage linens and some vintage clothes from. Got it about 3 years ago. It used to fit me before I hit this dreaded menopause business(any of you other ladies having a hard time with menopause? I would love to talk to you if you are).
The last item is a Victorian/Edwardian dark blue silk bodice with handmade velvet applique flowers. Absolutely gorgeous and near mint condition. I found this at a thrift store mixed in with the women's blazers. It was $3.95. Found it about 2-3 years ago.
Another fave find was a 30s-40s Ranch Maid red gabardine/white leather fringe top and skirt outfit. Mint condition but I sold it about a year ago. Sometimes regret I sold it. It was another thrift store find.
Well, I hope you like my goodies.
Kelly

Thank you for sharing. Don't you just love the thrill of the find. I went to my local thrift the other day..don't know why..something just made me go. :) Wasn't finding anything and thought I would check one more rack. Lo and behold, there it was...a wool 49er jacket priced as a shirt for $1.00! Made my day!

These are just lovely!!!:clapping:

Lovely things!

Did you read the Tina Leser workshop from earlier this summer? It was a wealth of information about the designer of your shirt.

That Tina Leser shirt is a real find! I wish you had been here in June when I did the workshop. It's a great example of her early work!

Great finds (and very good prices too).

The Tina Leser shirt is wonderful, however my fave is the
Mexican skirt. I bid on a similar one last week, but it went over
and above my meager budget. :(

I wonder if Michelle has seen this yet. She has the crazy quilt 30s/40s coats and the skirt made me think of those.

I am not sure which I like best...they are all so fab!
Thanks for sharing them, Kelly!

AND! How could I forget? If there is a label in that Tina Leser, I would love to add it to the label resource. If no label, a scan of her signature would fit the bill.
