Advice on Dating Two Nightgowns

I'm trying to learn some more about dating vintage nightgowns as I always seem to be drawn to them! Here are two I bought this weekend: a Kayser and a Henson Kickernick.

First off is the Henson Kickernick nightie and robe set. It's a bright pink bordering on highlighter pink. It's 100% nylon, or at least that's what it looks like it says, tag is very faded. I was thinking 70s due to the color and shape, but I could not find much about this brand at all.


The off-white Kayser nightgown is my favorite, 100% nylon as well. The early 60s label is very similar to this one in the label resource, but there are only two different labels for this brand and they are fairly far apart. I thought another could be added if this was decided to be earlier or later.


Thank you so much! I would also love to know if there are any good resources for vintage lingerie available, book or site, I've really fallen in love with it as of late. I just love looking at them, and the Kayser especially is going to be gorgeous for a photoshoot.

I had something very similar to the first one in the mid '70s. Actually I think the second one could be '70s too.

Thank you for your helpful opinion Nicole! I'm glad I wasn't totally off on the Henson set. I thought for sure the first one would be earlier due to the almost chiffon-like sheer look of the fabric and the older looking lace, but they do have extremely similar shapes that it didn't even occur to me!

Ooh, that Kayser is scrumptious! I think they both could be 60s, but that shortie A-line or shift kind style was around for a long while. The Kayser looks a bit older to me, especially with that tag, so I think you're on with that. The Henson, which although you don't see a lot of it, was a very good name and at least used to fetch decent prices in some styles (their teddies are always darling!). I think that one would be no later than early to mid 70s.

Thank you Anne! I am much in love with the Kayser! I collect vintage, and don't really sell it, instead I use it for myself and for model photoshoots. The Kayser is going to be wonderful for one I have planned!

And I am loving all of the little details on the Henson, you certainly don't seem to see a lot of it. I could really only find a handful of different ones online. Although the name Kickernick makes me laugh! For $5 for the set, I am certainly not complaining though!
