Annnnnnnnd may we have a drumroll?
The dust hasn't entirely settled, but it appears we have made it to our goal, plus a little:
$1,038!! 103.8%!!
Rolling the credits:
Many thanks to all our very generous member-donors, new recurring monthly donors, and non-member donors.
Thank you to those who offered beautiful incentive items, including Maggie
@MagsRags, Leisa
@Leisa and Sunny
@Cestsibon.
Thanks to all members who spread the news of our fundraiser.
To Janine
@Distantdetails, thank you for the auction of your lovely Schiaparelli hat.
To Diana
@poshthreads, who suggested the great idea of a train trip through our website during the week-long fundraiser.
Janine
@Distantdetails answered the call for a financial volunteer, posting totals behind the scenes, while Terri
@vintagedevotion made sure every donor was thanked (something she does all year).
To the board members who offered the matching financial donation incentive.
...and most of all to Jolene
@BlackLotusVintage, who has been backstage with me, creating videos for our incentives, cheerleading wherever the VFG has a presence, coordinating the incentives and basically saying "I'm on it!" to everything I threw her way! MANY MANY thanks!!
Actual footage of Jolene:
What does this fundraiser mean to the VFG? The current board has been working on strategic planning that may involve expenditures (Label Resource app anyone?)—all designed to keep the VFG relevant, growing, inspiring—strong! Financial stability is never just a given for the Vintage Fashion Guild. It requires careful strategizing, research, problem solving and judicious spending. We are very fortunate to have an actual banker, Victoria @Vintagiality, as our treasurer, keeping us on track.
Our various technical platforms, which keep us productive, charge more all the time. For instance, we have recently had to double our server capacity to accommodate more data—a sign of growth—but also twice the expense. The board has worked hard to keep dues at the rate set over a dozen years ago, and we truly rely on supplementing dues with donations.
Fundraising helps create public awareness for all we do, and this gem of an organization always needs to bridge the gap between surviving and thriving.
Until next time—
