Alright American Idol Fans..TONIGHT is the NIGHT!

oh come on... you can't tell me it's already all over the news!:P

Be sure not to open any major website! Even the Yahoo! front page already has it!:BAGUSE:

LOL Kristine. I know. we were half kidding. What did you think about the finale?

My sister was going to audition this past year. Her fiance had a day off from work and it was a school break and she wanted to spend time with him so she didn't go. And my mom was no help, she convinced her not to because she would miss one day of classes. She can sing, and she is the right age. She was offered a full ride scholarship to be a vocal music major and she turned it down. They might not pick her, they probably wouldn't. but it couldn't hurt her trying. I wanted to kick her. Where was her sense of adventure? She didn't get the risk taking gene for some reason. Oh well...she still falls under the age cut off this summer so maybe she will revisit the idea.

I am not trying to live vicariously, am I? :)

Well.. it's a once in a lifetime chance... if this is her last year to qualify she should do it. Why not? If she really CAN sing it's not like she'll end up on the William Hung list.
Speaking of which... I missed the "Worst of" episode

As for last night's show..Usually I really HATE the medlies they do. They are alwys so cheesy. But this years deal with all the stars was pretty good, although sometimes they tried to squeeze in to many idols. Like the one with Constantine. You'd think, given his following, that they'd have not stuck him with 3 other idols. That part was kinda cheesy, I thought.

Lynard Skynard was awesome, though! You could just see Bo trying to stifle that ear to ear grin!

DH thinks that Lynard Skynard should just hire him as their new front man...i thought he would want to go make a mark of his own.

I know! once in a lifetime chance.

Oh no, my sister has a few years. She is my baby sister, so she is actually only going to be 21.it is the "is she motivated" factor. She is not Aretha Franklin good or anything of that caliber, but she can sing.

If it were my brother, I would have been able to convince him, we are a ljsut a little bit closer in age than my sister and I and are a little closer in general. Hmm...my brother did place second in a regional karaoke contest.....only second to a guy who dressed up like a guy on oneside, a lady on the other so he dueted with himself and people like cheesey stuff like that. :hysterical: maybe my money was on the wrong candidate LOL . But if he did it, it would be his only shot. they raised it to 28 and he was 28 in april. He is not nearly as good as my sister. he is better as a drummer. With my luck he would TRY and top William Hung on purpose. LOL

We used to have a saying... sheep love cheese. The masses just really seem to love the cheesiest stuff for some reason.

What did you think of the new single being released? I thought that must've been what it was on Tuesday, since they both sang it.

... and I can't say anymore about my opinion on that without giving the outcome away....

I must have voted more than 100X for Bo

from the Idol site, this is really ironic

What was your favorite part of the finale?
Carrie singing Inside Your Heaven
24%
Bo performing with Lynyrd Skynyrd
69%
The Beach Boys Medley
2%
The David Hasselhoff moment
5%
Total Votes: 254874

Man I am SO SICK of Celine Dion I could puke! (Bless her heart)

She comes from this area and that's all they ever play on the radio, so I am entitled! If I have to hear her sing the word "Lerve" one more time, I will explode!!!

Deb

I have to say... the David Hasselhoff thing was pretty funny. I was kinda shocked that they bothered to bring those two guys out. And that gal who sang Star Spangled Banner-- it's kinda sad, actually... I mean, did she KNOW that she was being made fun of? I aways wonder these things....

Yeah.. I'm a bleeding heart...

I am really sorry about that, Deb. I did remember my parents who get canadian tv said that when she had her baby it was treated on the level of a beloved monarch in an enchanted magical fairytale story producing an heir.

I think the David Hasselhoff thing was funny as well. He's a big start in Germany, you know. :)

I think the gal must have been clued in by now on that...but if someone asked you to be on national television, some people would do it no matter what the context was.

OK - you can all relax now!! Thank you for being SO good at not divulging the result!!

I liked both of them, but for me Bo was a great performer, but Carrie was the better singer - and I was pleased that she won, with a resounding YES from this side of the water!

I like that she went up against an older and much more experienced performer - I'm sure she was convinced she was to be voted off last week, when Vonzelle left.

I enjoyed most of the guest appearances - thought Vonzelle was great, and the boys with George Benson...........and of course Bo rocked.

And great to see Anwar and Nadia again - I always thought they would have gone further in this competition.

First time I've ever watched this show - let alone the UK version - but I got sucked in - and thoroughly enjoyed it!

(I still wonder what happened to Mario, who just suddenly "disappeared" and was replaced???)

Mario left the show for personal reasons because he felt "it wasn't his thing". He was on the talk show circuit a few days later and was very cocky. A lot of folks thought he was nuts. Speculation was that he couldn't guarantee that he could definitely win and wanted all or nothing. with not having a defeat, he might have thought he could get a recording contract right then and there and didn't realize that he was contractually barred from signing any deals until after the Idols Tour was over. He attended that performing arts school in NY that i think "Fame" was based on and he thought he was just the bomb.

It is sad that i know all this.

imho the final show sucked, the rejected contestant vignettes ho hum been there done that, and please lets not comment on the horrific National Anthem segment, my question = why???

Simon & Randy gave the win to Carrie at the end of the show, which was unfair and biased

Simon basically lied when he said that Bo was 'uncomfortable' on stage that night when he knew Bo had been very sick with food poisoning, from what the news reported he had been in the ER on Mon. and Tues, and he was late on his third song on Tues because he was throwing up literally as the music was playing, re-watch it, watch him jog onto the stage late and he had to speed through the first couple of words

the plus is that now he doesn't have to be tied down for 5-7 years to American Idol

Carrie will sell country music cd's and Bo is going platinum!

I do think Bo not winning is a blessing in disquise... at least now he doesn't have to release that stupid song as his first single! (sorry in advance to anyone who DOES like it... I just think it's syrupy & just really not my style. or Bo's for that matter!)
