    Inside is a label with chinese writting and in english of course ( otherwise I wouldn't be telling you this) Peoples republic of China. So when was it the peoples republic to help date it.

    I thought maybe 40's r 50's

    Isn't it still The People's Republic of China....whom we insist upon calling Taiwan?

    Hi -

    I believe the PRC - name adopted in 1948(?) - is still the PRC = Mainland China.

    So - sometime after 1948 -> now.

    It has a 50's "feel" to it.

    The thing is that the US didn't recognize PRC/Mainland China at all until Richard Nixon's term when he visited and both formal and trade relations were established. That was in 1972. If the label were just in Chinese, I could go with 50s, but since there is a 'Made in' it was made for export and since it is does specify which China (not Taiwan), it is most likely 70s.

    I think most things today simply say China or Taiwan.
