The news on the attacks on the transit in London is still coming in and I'm concerned about our UK members.

Sue

I just heard!

And I was logging on to do the same thing. Thanks Sue.

Senti is way north of London I think.

Anne? Liz? both Louises?
and Lin? (even though I know you are probably not in the city proper at the moment)

Please check in ladies,

Chris

I was supposed to be going to London today, and was wavering last night. But since Paddington has been closed, definitely not.

Liz checked in on the VCA saying she's OK. Senti is usually in Halifax, so as long as she's not travelling she should be OK. Sue checked in with Anne and she's alright, though was supposed to be travelling into London too. Not sure about others.

They hit mainly the northern tube/road artery around west central London and City. I wonder whether the bus bomb might have been supposed to go off in Euston Road, which would have cut off that big route directly between two of the tube blasts (King's Cross and Edgeware Rd). Instead, it went off about a block later.

I really feel for the people who've been caught up in this. Because of the frequency of bomb scares and glitches in the Underground, everyone would have been fairly blase until the real extent (and the bus bomb) became apparent. It's totally shocking.

Thanks for letting us know about Liz and Anne, Lin.

I can't remember exactly where geographywise the two Louises are (i THINK Louise BarbaraVilliers said where, but I have totally forgotten).

Other UK'ers who i have not mentioned so far (as i was zoning in on folks who may be actually near London proper), check in too

Chris

I got a U2U from Liz (emmapeelpants) at 5:50 AM - so, she's OK. And she didn't mention the bombings!

I'm in London near Aldgate and all day I have heard the sirens. One bomb went off near my husbands office on the train he often uses. Today he didn't have to travel around London for which I thank God because yesterday he spent quite some time on the tube. It looks like he will be walking home this evening, but at least he is unharmed.
What horrible people there are in the world.
Louise

Hello! I was supposed to be going up that way late this morning, but was lucky enough to see the first reports on the news so I didn't go. At that point, it was still 'electrical surges' to blame for the explosions. It's totally shocking, unspeakably horrific....

Good to know other boardies are okay, a fellow Avengers website owner left for work 15 minutes early this morning and missed the Liverpool St. explosion by...15 minutes. Very, very frightening - but London is a strong city and we've, sadly, had plenty of experience. I know I was hyper-aware of such things throughout my childhood.

Just got home from work.
Thankfully I'm on the west coast, but we did have 2 people from the office in London today. I was biting my nails until I heard they were ok.
I have all Londoners in my thoughts tonight, and Liz is right... they are a tough breed!
Louise

We know you are tough! Hang in there. So glad you are okay, Louise.:hiya:

This is so awful. I'm so sorry, UK-ers. I hope we'll hear that everyone--and their loved ones--are okay.

I am so glad to hear everyone is ok. (Hope to hear from Harriet soon!)

Sending prayers and hugs across the ocean....
