Back to Campus

It’s September, Guys and Dolls, and you know what that means? It’s time to go BACK-TO-CAMPUS! It’s time for plaid, argyle, knee-socks, saddle shoes, collegiate sweaters, and letterman jackets. So this week, wave your VFG pennants as the members show you everything you need to hit the books in style!

these two two-tone vintage letterman jackets will be coming to our Less Than Perfect shop on Etsy once we get back home and get them measured. We'll drop in some links once we do. :)

NOT FOR SALE, just showing off my and my daughter's varsity jackets. :)
Mine: Class of 1980, sport: springboard diving. (I used to have a goldtone pin of a diver pinned to the letter L.)
My daughter: Class of 2016, sport: tennis.
The older jacket is slightly heavier than the newer jacket (despite being a smaller size). The newer jacket is 80% wool/20% nylon. Unfortunately, the fabric content on the older jacket is unreadable but the fabric feels the same, just a bit thicker. My daughter got special permission from the athletic director to choose the style of her varsity jacket so it could be similar to mine. (Nowadays, the girls jackets are just like the boys jackets, with white leather sleeves and a stand-up striped knit collar.) She seemed to start a retro trend, several other girls liked her jacket so much that they got the same style!
I loved the fact that my younger two kids (oldest had already graduated by the time I moved back to my home area) were able to attend my alma mater. Emma even wore my jacket a few times to school before she got her own, she got quite a bit of notice, LOL!
