Hi, does anyone know what the covered buttons are called on mainly 1940s American clothing( mainly gabardine coats) . Also is there a stockist of them in uk please.

I just know of them being called covered buttons. Can you show a photo of what you are looking for?

I have seen this type called a halo shank covered button. I couldn't quite tell if you are looking for a source of the covered buttons themselves or the form on which to create buttons. I see https://harlequin-uk.com/product-category/covered-buttons/
It looks like they cover buttons with your fabric. However, for vintage fashion, I would not like the plastic shank.
