Aloha!!! Below are photos of a Le Must De Cartier Paris envelope leather clutch, I’m trying to figure out the year this was made. Through my research I’ve found out that the Le Must De Cartier line came out in 1973, also when they coined the ox blood burgundy their color. Some exact ones being sold online have a description that it’s a rare limited edition collectors item. Some date it from 1975, 1980, 1990…I do not have any serial number or duster bag for further info…so I was just reaching out to see if anyone could help me figure out the correct year of production. Mahalo Nui!!!

Ox blood burgundy was THE accessory colour of c. 1977 - 1981 - it was a semi-neutral, like bone beige and dove grey. But I don't think I have seen it since - it certainly wan't around in 1990 - by then black was THE accessory colour.

  3. Jonathan's right. I see late '70s for this one. That font is very '70s too.

I ADORE 70s oxblood... I wear it whenever possible, all Etienne Aigner it would seem. A pair of flats, clutch, belts. Something about that color pulls an outfit together just so.
