Cheltenham Vintage Fashion Fair pix

Finished putting everything away from the Cheltenham fair for another 2 weeks until I do the Hammersmith fair in London!!

The atmosphere there was like at the Leeds fair, more older women with money to spend and not as many students although there was still quite a few young people there too. There was a lot less bargaining at this fair and I sold my 50's sharkskin cocktail dress!!
There wasn't as much 80's things at this fair and people mostly wanted 50's. Women in their late 40's onwards were trying on 50's dresses (full skirted, shirtwaist) and I think Harriet had quite few ladies try on her 40's and 50's dresses and buy them.
Some of the young 'uns were were wearing that horrible shirt + tights combination- Harriet spotted one but most people were dressed "normal".
People wanted wearable things rather than collectibles and I had an influx of women wanting bullet bras but I don't all all sizes in stock, either tiny or Dolly Parton size, everyone wanted 34C's and D's or large cup 32's.
LOL, I offered one woman a early 60's balconette bra as it was the only one I had in her size but she said she wanted her boobs to look like mine (I had my bullet bra on)! LOL!

Didn't do much shopping as I'm a bit low on cash as I went to the auction the other week and am trying to conserve what I have for the auction this week but managed to get a black Lanvin merry widow corselette from the 50's, a 1960 black bra/girdle for C&C and a late 50's black acetate faille princess seamed beaded shelf bust cocktail dress for me! The dress is 2 sizes too big but I'm going to have Harriet's seamstress take it in for me, the length is fine on me though which is good. You can always take something in but you can't make it taller!

Here are the pix...

My stall before the customers came in..

The building is from the Regency era (it was completed in 1820 I think) so it was great selling vintage clothing in a historical setting!

Harriet had the stall beside me and had dresses I kept eyeing! Never did get to try on her grey and pink 40's outfit as someone bought it before I could get to it!!

Great pics Lei, thanks for posting! You notice I got shorter as I could only do platform shoes until about 2pm..

I really enjoyed it, and loved the building - I am a sad not-so-secret regency romance novel obsessive and got very excited when the sign on the motorway pointed to 'Regency Cheltenham'!

Your new old dress is gorgeous!

Great photos Lei!
I love the venue and that aerial shot.
The cocktail dress you bought looks stunning on you.

You girls rock!

Really great photos as usual of the both of you. Nice to see some proper platforms been worn Harriet, .
Not that I do not like your cocktail dress Lei but I do prefer cheongsam dress, The colour and length make it just stand out a little.
Thanks for posting them.
