    Hello everyone,
I have a silk Chinese hand embroidered robe that has me stumped. From my research I’ve learned that the embroidery is called couching but I haven’t seen many robes with a similar illustrative style, or any with pagodas. If I had to guess the date I’d say 20’s-30’s but I’m really not sure. I found this piece in the Midwest so I’d be surprised if it’s much older than that.

    Any help is appreciated!

This does look like an older one to me. I would agree with your dating of it.
A very nice example, the embroidery on the actual robe is interesting colorwise.
The banding sometimes is older than the actual robe.

Let's see what others have to say.
