Crissa Linea Italiana - 70s? What Part?

Found this sexy burgundy wool knit dress with interesting ribbed pattern and cute bow detail. Fitted bodice with just below the knee A-line skirt. I think early 70s???? Plastic zipper but with metal pull and other parts. Also, in my haste I didn't see the very slight darkening under the arms. What can I use before I have this dry-cleaned (it's going to a shop) to help get rid of those two small spots? Or does the dry-cleaning usually work? TIA

no pics here either... but I have had problems lately with pics showing up on the public boards... Also your Avatar isn't coming up for me Kevin... maybe its your ISP.

However... when it comes to underarm marks on wool... well, you can hope. Dry cleaning might at least lighten them to the point where they are acceptable, not sure about them coming out completely. SOmeone just told me about a dry cleaners in Manhattan that apparently works miracles. And I stupidly deleted it... Would you happen to know who I mean? It was a 'cute' name, like Polly's or something...

Ken, I see it now. Just read about underarm spots on the Vintage Textile Ebay board. You might want to go take a look.

I'm going to investigate the dry cleaners Jonathan. I may be able to find out on Craigs List. I'm racking my brain and I can't think of it off-hand. It wouldn't be Jeeve's would it? They are miraculous but their prices take a miracle to pay for! It's around $15 to have a shirt laundered and they change the dry cleaning solution for every garment...

I'll pop on over to the Vintage Textile Ebay board Linda! Thanks...

Gals wore dresses like that when I went to school in the early 70's. the A line skirt and the knits were a big thing.

Boy am I glad I am not the only one having trouble with pics on the public board. I have been trying and trying to see Ellens coat for two days now. I was getting ready to throw my puter out the window into the pool!

Madame Paulette? On the upper east side.

And I think there's a cleaner's with a great rep that's downtown on 2nd, in the teens maybe--- ? Oh, if I only had a brain!

Great dress, btw - there's nothing quite like those Italian knits. And the bow at the neckline is a particular bonus at this exact moment :)

Good luck with the pits!

Carolyn

ohhh that's cute.
Carolyn is right-- make sure to put Italian Knit in the title.

ANd that color is something else. Too bad it's wool or I'd be asking about the size! (I'm allergic. Boo hoo!)
