Menswear experts, what's your best guess on when this photo was taken? It's a friend's family member. I've asked him to remove the mat for a fuller view, but you may not need it. Thanks.

Those really tall collars are popular c. 1895 - 1905, but oversized facial hair begins to fall from favour for young men in the 1900s, so I would guess late 1890s.
