Dating a briefcase/bag. Is it something older or 2000s?

Hi! Today I found such a briefcase / purse in an old mens basement. I wonder if it is something older or maybe newer. There is no tag. The material is leather. I searched for information about the zipper manufacturer (Ultra?), but found nothing. Handles are especially interesting, made of the same material as the handbag and additionally made of something like brass. They can be hidden by sliding them down, and also stretched to the sides. Can anybody help me to age the purse ? I would be grateful.

Hi, early 70s imo, Shargreen effect, are you sure its leather?

It looks like some kind of embossed leather? Stylewise I could also see this in the 60s - just my hunch .

General impression is 70’s, but only because I have had a few 70’s bags with funky sliding handles. It may have started well before then though. I’d be interested to see others expertise on this.

Thank you all for your answers. Yes, I made some tests and it's definitely leather. I also asked one person to confirm it. Have you seen any handbags with similar handles? This was the first time I saw such handles and I must admit that they interested me the most.

BIB, no I haven't but as GemGem says, funky sliding handles.

But I'm not so sure, funkiness' to one side, the handles, to me at least have a purpose, apart from the obvious, I get funkiness/quirkiness but they seem OTT but then again, that's fashion/design.

Gusseted at the bottom so designed to carry a little more then a underarm bag/case, maybe that's it, duel purpose.

Unusual tho', I'd like to find one for collection.
