Dating a Salvatore Ferragamo Shoe

I am trying to date a pair of Ferragamo evening shoes. They have the handwritten number AM3757. The label is not one that you have exactly. The label on my shoes has "Florence" with "Italy" below it - NOT "Made in Italy" as your example label has. So this may be a new label for you collection. The shoes are a tea green silk with off-white embroidery. The shoe buckles were added later. There were originally small matching leather bows but one was missing. (Move over Roger Vivier.)

What elegant shoes! I see what you mean about the Ferragamo labels in our resource - yours looks like it was a transition between the late 30s "Ferragamo's Creations, Florence Italy" and the 70s "Salvatore Ferragamo, Florence, Made in Italy".

My first reaction is mid to late 1950s, evolving from the chunkier babydoll pumps of the earlier 50s toward 50s/60s stilettos. Hopefully our footwear expert @Jonathan will be along to have a look.

Yes, middly 50s 54-56ish
Thank you. I didn't see this when I wrote to you personally.

Thank you very much for your reply. Jonathan did reply, bless him, and said mid-fifties. Do you think my label will be added?

I'm sure the Label Resource committee would love to have your label to add to the Ferragamo entry. But the VFG does not "harvest" labels without the owner's express permission - doesn't feel ethical.
Click this link to be taken to the label submission thread for 2022 where you can post your label along with a photo of the shoe - you'll be asked to give the VFG permission to use your label photo, and you'll be credited in the resource.

I can't seem to get the label to you.
