Hi! I have an early linen child's dress that is completely hand sewn with wonderful textured design glass buttons and lovely hooks and eyes. I am trying to date the dress. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Vicki

From the Henry Ford site, this dress was dated 1780-1830. This one has ties in back, no hooks. Not many photos show children in everyday clothing. Most photographs show them in their "best dresses". Your piece is in really great shape if it's that old. If you have a local Historical society, most towns do, take it there and see if they can date it. It's an awesome piece.
